METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR STEREO MATCHING BY USING RECTANGULAR WINDOW

The present invention provides a method and a system for stereo matching based on a stereo vision, which minimize use of a memory for storing a left image and a right image in which a y-axis parallax is removed. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the method for stereo matching based on a stereo vision comprises the following steps of: obtaining the left image and the right image; applying a window to each of the obtained left and right images, and identifying image data; storing the image data in a line buffer; extracting a parallax from the image data stored in the line buffer; and generating a depth map based on the extracted parallax.
