The epoxy-functional coupling agent comprises the reaction product of a polyepoxide with an aminosilane represented by HNR 1 R 2 . R 1 represents Z-SiL 3 , R 2 represents Z-SiL 3 or an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms. Each Z independently represents a divalent linking group having 1 to 18 carbon atoms, and each L independently represents a hydrolyzable group. Coupling agents may be used to treat substrates such as abrasive particles, which may be included within the resin bonded abrasive article.
