An objective of the present invention is to provide a production method of an ABS-based resin powder and a preparation method of an ABS-based resin composition with improved surface properties. More specifically, the present invention relates to the production method of an ABS-based resin powder and the preparation method of an ABS-based resin composition with improved surface properties comprising the ABS-based resin powder, wherein the production method comprises: an acid aggregation step of injecting an acid aggregate reagent into an ABS-based resin latex produced by emulsion polymerization to aggregate an acid; an aging step of aging a slurry in which the acid has been aggregated; a base treatment step of injecting a base into the aged slurry to adjust a pH value of the slurry to 8 to 12; and a step of dehydrating the base-treated slurry one to three times and drying the dehydrated slurry to obtain an ABS-based resin powder, wherein the ABS-based resin powder contains a residual emulsifier amount of 5,000 ppm or less, and is acid-free.
