According to the present invention, provided is a volume-variable serial coprecipitation reactor which comprises: at least one main reactor in which two or more reactants are accommodated to cause a coprecipitation reaction; a metal aqueous solution storage tank for storing a metal aqueous solution to be inserted to the main reactor, a growth regulator reservoir for storing a growth regulator introduced into the main reactor, and an auxiliary reactor installed at a front end of the main reactor to produce an initial reactant corresponding a starting volume of the main reactor during an initial reaction, by supplying the reactant. The positive electrode active material and a precursor produced by using the same ensure improved performance.
