Disclosed are an apparatus for monitoring an activity of abalone of an abalone farming shelter and a method thereof. According to the present invention, the method comprises the steps of: providing an abalone farming shelter in which the abalone farming shelter is divided into a plurality of zones and a reader capable of reading information of electronic tag is installed in each zone; attaching the electronic tag to a plurality of sample abalone selected among the abalone farmed in the abalone farming shelter and providing the selected sample abalone to the abalone farming shelter; reading the electronic tag by the reader; transmitting reading information collected while reading the electronic tag by the reader; and calculating movement information of the sample abalone by receiving and comparing the reading information.
