Ball and cup impactor for implanting hip prostheses

Described is a new surgical instrument and method for implanting an element of an inferior hip prosthesis in a patient. The device is an impactor that is struck with a hammer at its proximal end after being used to position an implant element on a patient. The acetabular impactor has an inclination and a forehead rod which are used to position the acetabocain to an optimal position within the acetabulum. The acetabular impactor attaches the acetabular ball to the acetabular cup with a moss taper. Also, the thigh cup impactor attaches the thigh cup to the thigh stem with a mos taper.
