METHOD OF DISTRIBUTED SERVICE FUNCTION FAIL-OVER FOR HIGHLY AVAILABLE SERVICE FUNCTION CHAINING AND SYSTEM OF THE SAME

A failure recovery method is disclosed. The failure recovery method is performed by a failure recovery system, and includes: a step of transmitting a ping message to a service node where a transmitting part included in the failure recovery system provides a next service function on a service function chain at a predetermined period; a step of determining whether a determination part included in the failure recovery system receives a response to the ping message; and a step of detecting the failure of the next service function when the failure detection part included in the failure recovery system does not return a response to the ping message within a predefined threshold time. It is possible to reduce time to overcome a service function failure.
