METHOD FOR GENERATING IMAGE OF ARBITRARY VIEW-PONT USING CAMERA ARRAY AND MULTI-FOCUS IMAGE AND APPARATUS THEREOF

Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for generating an image at any viewpoint by using a camera array and a multifocal image. The method for generating an image at any viewpoint comprises the steps of: respectively acquiring a set of original images captured by a plurality of cameras included in a camera array at the same viewpoint at one or more focal distances; acquiring a set of multifocal images by generating multifocal images from the set of original images at one or more focal distances; and generating arbitrary viewpoint images at locations to which the set of multifocal images are to be shifted. Thus, consistent image quality is able to be obtained.
