The present invention relates to a visible light communication method capable of operating high-speed visible light communication based on photo diode (PD) such as Li-Fi and low-speed visible light communication based on optical camera communication (OCC) simultaneously in a smart device. A camera in the smart device is used as a receiver for low-speed communication, and a photo diode (PD) embedded in the smart device is used as a receiver for high-speed communication. The smart device capable of high and low speed visible light communication includes: a fusion data receiving part receiving data at different speeds through the visible light communication; a memory storing a program for receiving the data through the visible light communication; and a processor executing the program stored in the memory. The processor executes the program to measure the transmission speed of data transmitted from a transmitting device and to set a reception speed of the fusion data receiving part based on the measured transmission speed, thereby receiving the transmitted data.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2018
