Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for detecting, learning, and controlling a frictional coefficient of a clutch, by which a hydraulic pressure that is necessary for control of a clutch for each gear of an automatic transmission, and a multi-speed automatic transmission including the apparatus. An apparatus for learning and controlling a frictional coefficient according to an aspect of the present invention includes a vehicle state detecting unit that acquires information that is necessary for detecting an actual frictional coefficient of a clutch installed in an automatic transmission and delivers the acquired information to a transmission control unit, an engine control unit that finds target torque and target RPM matching the accelerator pedal operation position by utilizing the engine output map obtained by converting the required torque for each vehicle speed into data and delivers the corresponding information to the transmission control unit, and a transmission control unit that receives information that is necessary for detecting frictional coefficients from the vehicle state detecting unit and the engine control unit and information on target torque and a target RPM, calculates an actual frictional coefficient from the received information, and calculates a change rate of the frictional coefficient by comparing the actual frictional coefficient with a previously set frictional coefficient and applying the change rate to the following transmission.
