The present invention relates to an engine control method and an engine control apparatus for determining injector abnormality in consideration of influence of an air compressor. According to the present invention, the injector abnormality is detected at a point in time when drive torque of the air compressor is avoided or the influence thereof can be minimized in order to prevent erroneous determination of the injector by the drive torque of the air compressor connected to an engine of an automobile when the injector abnormality is judged using difference in angular velocity variation of a crankshaft between a plurality of cylinders of the engine of the automobile.
