Disclosed are a musical instrument practice system, and an assistive method for playing a musical instrument. To this end, the musical instrument practice system undergoes the following steps: receiving a signal generated upon the play of the musical instrument by a user; determining whether to correspond to normal performance by making a comparison between intensity and the length of the signal and a threshold value; analyzing a harmonic structure of the received signal to generate performance data; determining whether to process the performance data according to the harmonic structure of the received signal; determining whether the performance of the user is correct by comparing the performance data with the pre-stored music data; and providing a user with the evaluated result of the performance of the user.
