DWTT Method and Apparatus for Optimizing Production Conditions of Plate Using Standardization of DWTT Shear Area Data

The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for optimizing steel manufacturing conditions through standardization of DWTT ductile wave fracture ratio data. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the present invention describes dispersion in a transition section through rearrangement of ductile-brittle transition sectional data, based on drop weight tear test (DWTT) results for a number of steels by a shear area (SA) at 50%. The present invention monitors variation of the DWTT ductile wavefront ratio during initial production of the steel and evaluates DWTT quality stability from a small number of tests using the dispersion in the ductile-brittle transition section.
