The present invention relates to a method for installing and operating optical visitor sensors used in a visitor recognition device. The purpose of the present invention is to remove a swing door signal from a detection signal of an optical visitor sensor installed in a swing door, and to selectively provide only a visitor signal, thereby minimizing a visitor recognition error. To this end, disclosed is a method for minimizing a recognition error of a visitor recognition device by analyzing a detection signal of a light receiving sensor in a pre-processing step and determining the same before the detection signal is transmitted to the visitor recognition device so as to selectively remove a signal identified as a swing door by forming a light receiving sensor (FIG. 8) which measures a vertical bending slope with a light detection signal and a micro-processor (MCU) (FIG.1) which processes a signal inputted through the light receiving sensor. Therefore, by providing only a signal identified as a visitor from a swing door opened in both directions to the visitor recognition device, a visitor recognition error is minimized, and malfunction is prevented. In addition, by stabilizing control of a power load such as an accessing personnel coefficient and a lamp, power saving, safety and the like can be increased accordingly.
