The present invention relates to a noble soil quality assessment method, which is capable of performing a site assessment using soil preference of earthworm, called as a soil preference dispersal assay and, more specifically, to a soil quality assessment method, in which a test tube containing reference soil is installed in an area of which soil quality is to be assessed, the earthworm is positioned within the tube, and the number of earthworm individuals going out of the tube to be dispersed into surrounding soil or remaining in initial soil according to the soil preference of the earthworm is counted to screen-test soil toxicity. According to the present invention, the soil preference dispersal assay shows a high relation with physiochemical soil characteristics and low variance to enable an assessor to perform simple, economical and highly precise soil quality assessment.
