The present invention relates to a method for setting a file access path for a distributed file system based on a torus network that provides another path similar to the shortest path according to cases requesting an access to a file, thereby preventing file input and output performance from being limited in a maximum bandwidth of a single path. According to the present invention, the method for setting a file access path includes the steps of: obtaining layout information on a file to which a client desires to access; searching for a given data server from a plurality of data servers on the basis of the layout information and determining a file access pattern on the basis of file access location and size; and setting any one of the shortest path and a second path longer by one hop than the shortest path as an access path in consideration of the file access pattern and a bandwidth usage rate of a network address on the shortest path for the access to the given data server.
