The present invention relates to coated zinc oxide for a feed additive composition, a method for preparing the same, and livestock feed containing the same. More specifically, the method for preparing coated zinc oxide for a feed additive composition comprises the following steps: dissolving vegetable fat; preparing a suspension by mixing the dissolved vegetable fat and zinc oxide powder; and preparing coated zinc oxide particles by solidifying the mixed suspension by spraying the mixed suspension to a cooling chamber. The coated zinc oxide particles comprise a matrix of vegetable fat and zinc oxide powder dispersed throughout. According to the present invention, coated zinc oxide having a matrix structure of zinc oxide-vegetable fat can be prepared. Therefore, the coated zinc oxide has a merit of exhibiting diarrhea prevention and weight-increasing effects, the same as feeding zinc oxide at a high concentration, or more excellent diarrhea prevention and weight-increasing effects even when livestock is fed with the coated zinc oxide at a low concentration.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2018
