Disclosed are an image matching method using a virtual feature point, capable of performing natural image matching, and a system thereof. According to the present invention, the image matching method using a virtual feature point matches first and second images to be matched, and comprises: a step of allowing an image matching system to search for at least one feature point setting block from a plurality of first blocks belonging to a first matching area of the first image in accordance with a preset selection criterion of a feature point setting block; a step of allowing the image matching system to set at least one first virtual feature point in the determined feature point setting block in a predetermined setting type; a step of allowing the image matching system to set, in the setting type, a second virtual feature point in a corresponding block corresponding to the feature point setting block among a plurality of second blocks belonging to a second matching area of the second image; and a step of allowing the image matching system to calculate conversion information for converting the first or second image based on a first feature point set, which includes the first virtual feature point and actual feature points included in the first matching area, and a second feature point set, which includes the second virtual feature point and actual feature points included in the second matching area.
