A DSP-based modem includes an RF circuit and a plurality of DSPs that perform functions of a baseband receiver, a baseband transmitter, a baseband controller, and an RF interface of the modem. Each of the plurality of DSPs includes a plurality of cores performing at least a part of the functions of the baseband transmitter and the baseband controller, and a plurality of coprocessors performing a function using bit-level signal processing among the functions of the baseband receiver, the baseband transmitter, and the baseband controller, and a function that requires Fourier transform.
