According to one embodiment of the present invention, a method for measuring a soil moisture content is provided in a method for measuring a water content of a soil by a portable spectrometer including a measuring apparatus and an analyzing apparatus, comprising following steps of: (a) measuring reflectance of light reflected from a soil sample irradiated from a light source by each wavelength, through the measuring apparatus; and (b) through the analyzing apparatus, (i) selecting or being selected a wavelength most suitable for measuring the soil moisture content of the wavelength of the reflected light, (ii) deriving a soil moisture content calculating equation by analyzing reflectivity corresponding to the optimum wavelength based on existing water content data collected in advance, and (iii) calculating the water content of the soil sample using the soil moisture content calculating equation and the reflectivity of the optimum wavelength.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2018
