The present invention relates to a data processor to perform accelerated synchronization between a central processing unit (CPU) and a graphic processing unit (GPU), capable of using an APU platform integrating a CPU and a GPU as a cost-efficient packing processing acceleration device. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the data processor comprises: the CPU processing pieces of first data; the GPU including a plurality of calculation units and a cache memory; and a shared memory shared by the CPU and the GPU to store data. Each calculation unit includes a plurality of threads, at least a part of the calculation units is operated as an active thread group, and the remaining calculation units are operated as an inactive thread group. The active thread group converts the pieces of first data into pieces of second data and the inactive thread group processes input/output of dummy data, such that the pieces of second data converted in the active thread group and dummy data processed in the inactive thread group are simultaneously filled in the cache memory to transmit the pieces of second data stored in the cache memory to the shared memory, thereby performing the accelerated synchronization between the CPU and the GPU.
