Methods of producing proteins in a coupled culture and production bioreactor system are provided. This method includes a cultured bioreactor (N-1 bioreactor) connected to a production bioreactor (N bioreactor). More specifically, the method comprises the steps of: (a) culturing cells in a continuous perfusion culture bioreactor (N-1 bioreactor) with a gene encoding a desired protein; Inoculating cells obtained from step (a) into a continuously stirred tank reactor (CSTR) production bioreactor (N bioreactor); And culturing the cells in the CSTR bioreactor under conditions that allow production of the desired protein.
