The present invention relates to a method for replacing an emergency generator in an energy storage system (ESS) and a system including the same, and more particularly, to a system for replacing an emergency generator in a building energy management system (BEMS). According to an embodiment of the present invention, a system for replacing an emergency generator comprises: an ESS storing power supplied from a system or providing the stored power to a load; a circuit breaker disposed between the system and the ESS; a monitoring unit measuring status information of the system; and a BEMS receiving the measured status information from the monitoring unit, and controlling operations of the circuit breaker and the ESS. The BEMS determines an operating state of the system based on the state information, and controls the ESS to supplementarily provide power to the load together with the system when the system is in a normal state, and provides the power stored in the ESS to the load when the system is in an abnormal state. The present invention is able to increase power supply stability of a BEMS and power quality.
