The present invention provides a maintenance education method using three-dimensional (3D) shape information and a virtual reality (VR) system, and an apparatus thereof. According to the present invention, in a learning and training program with which various users understand, learn, and are familiar with a structure, a function, and operation relation of a system in order to perform repairs and maintenances, 3D shape information of parts and system forming corresponding equipment, static characteristics, such as electric, mechanical, and physical characteristics of each component, and various dynamic characteristics by interaction and mechanical movement of each component are used; and the interaction among characteristic values of each component is visualized such that phenomenon information actually identical with an actual situation is provided through a VR device, thereby providing theoretical learning and maintenance training for the maintenance through actual equipment, and learning and training for various heavy equipment and new systems.
