The present invention relates to an MRI contrast agent for liver tumor-specific imaging diagnosis comprising manganese silicate that emits manganese ions (Mn^(2+)) under acidic conditions, and to a method for characterizing liver tissues using the same. In a relatively short time, the pattern of T1-weighted imaging is different according to the tissue-specificity of normal liver tissues and disease tissues (particularly, liver tumors), such as vascularity, cell density, mitochondrial activity, hepatocellular affinity, and the like, and thus the disease-specific characteristic of liver tumors can be recognized at an appropriate time by analyzing the T1-weighted imaging. In particular, the present invention is expected to be very useful for diagnosing the type of liver tumor or determining a therapeutic effect, and moreover, is expected to be helpful in diagnosis according to tissue-specificity even in diseases generated in organs other than liver.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2018
