Suitable catalysts include molecular sieves having a 3-D 12-membered ring skeleton structure, molecular sieves having a 1-D 12-membered ring skeleton structure, acidic microporous materials having a pore channel size of at least 6.0 Angstroms, and / or MWW skeletal structures Containing molecular sieve. The method includes performing transalkylation wherein at least a portion of the feed to the transalkylation process is in the liquid phase. Optionally, the transalkylation conditions may correspond to conditions in which the continuous liquid phase is present in the reaction environment.
