The present invention provides a method for tracking a weld line capable of significantly improving accuracy of weld line extraction through a preprocessing and a post-processing of a captured weld line image. The method for tracking a weld line comprises the following steps of: capturing the weld line by using a CCD camera having a laser beam and an optical filter; capturing the captured weld line to convert into a computer image; a preprocessing step of removing noise of the image, and binarizing the image; and calculating a center point of a V-shaped weld line through a hough algorithm of the preprocessed image, and matching the center point of the V-shaped weld line with a center coordinate of the weld line of a torch part.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2018
