The present invention provides a smart magic cube capable of changing the cube by varying light of various colors by a light emitting unit without movement of each cell constituting the magic cube and an operation method thereof. The smart magic cube according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a housing of a cube having N N cells partitioned on each side; a light emitting unit formed inside each of the cells to emit at least one light to the outside through the surface of the cell; six rotary members each formed to be rotatable about a rotary shaft passing through the center of each of the surfaces; a rotation sensing unit for sensing the rotation direction and a rotation angle according to rotation of each of the six rotary members; and a control unit controlling the light emitting unit in correspondence with the rotation direction and the rotation angle of the rotary member sensed by the rotation sensing unit, so that the light of the edge cells of the surface on which the rotated rotary member is formed and the cells of the other four surfaces adjacent to the edge cell are changed to a predetermined rule.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2018
