Self-powered exercise equipment according to one aspect of the present invention includes an insulated DC-DC converter boosting or stepping down a DC input voltage associated with a DC input current rectified by a rectifying circuit, an inverter converting or outputting DC output voltage having a value within a convertible range to an AC output voltage by the step-up or step-down by the insulated DC-DC converter, and an exercise intensity controller controlling the exercise intensity by controlling magnitude of the DC input current and by adjusting at least one of a switching frequency and a duty ratio of a switching signal used for controlling the insulated DC-DC converter depending on a users input.
