The present invention relates to a reverse osmosis membrane system having an automatic cleaning device, and an automatic cleaning method using a reverse osmosis membrane used therefor. To this end, water which is cleanly treated to meet an effluent standard is used as clean-in-place (CIP) water for automatic cleaning by an operation of an automatic valve, and the water used for the cleansing is introduced back into a raw water tank, thereby preventing contamination due to cleaning and extending lifespan of the reverse osmosis membrane at least four times longer than existing counterparts. In addition, the reverse osmosis membrane system can operate completely automatically as a reusable zero-discharge apparatus, and thus efficiency can be doubled.
