The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a Cu-Ag alloy material, and a cable using a Cu-Ag alloy material prepared thereby as a conductor. The method for manufacturing a Cu-Ag alloy material comprises: a step of preparing a Cu-Ag alloy composition containing a predetermined part by weight of Ag based on the total 100 wt% of the Cu-Ag alloy composition; a step of performing a consecutive casting process to cast the Cu-Ag alloy composition into a casting material with a predetermined diameter; a solution heat treatment step in which a primary thermal treatment is performed on the casting material; a step of cold-rolling the solution heat-treated casting material to reduce the diameter of the material; an aging treatment step in which secondary thermal treatment is performed on the cold rolled material; and a step of drawing the rolled material processed with the aging heat treatment so the diameter of the rolled material becomes smaller. The cable that uses the Cu-Ag alloy material as a conductor is manufactured by the manufacturing method which is described above. According to the present invention, provided is the Cu-Ag alloy material which exhibits high strength and high conductivity, and to which a minimum amount of the expensive Ag is added, and the cable using the alloy material prepared thereby as a conductor, such that it is possible to achieve economic efficiency.
