The present invention relates to an acetylene gas analysis method for an underground transmission cable to calculate an amount of acetylene contained in gas to be analyzed with acetaldehyde generated by enabling the gas to be analyzed to be in contact with an acetylene hydration catalyst, and an acetylene gas analysis device for an underground transmission cable therefor. According to the present invention, provided are the acetylene gas analysis device for an underground transmission cable and the acetylene gas analysis method, which can detect acetylene gas in a sample which is a small quantity of about 10 mL, accurately diagnose the acetylene gas with a low detection limit to 0.1 ppm, and be carried to directly perform gas analysis in a site for malfunction to be diagnosed in advance.
