The present invention relates to an air purification ion generating device for removing harmful airborne microorganisms and fine dust and, more specifically, relates to an air purification ion generating device capable of easily removing harmful microorganisms and fine dust floating in the air in a large space by supplying hydroperoxyl radical (HOO-) as well as a high concentration of cations and anions. The device includes: a case including a power supply part; a first electrode part installed in the case to partially protrude from the upper part of the case, and emitting cations while generating plasma discharge; and a second electrode part partially protruding from the upper part of the case, installed in the case to be located at a distance from the first electrode part in an air flowing direction, and emitting anions while generating plasma discharge. The upper surface of the case has a two-stage structure comprising a lower end part, in which one of the first and second electrode parts is located, and an upper end part, in which the other one is located, and thus, the first and second electrode parts have different heights. Since the upper end part is located near the upper stream in an air flowing direction, air flow towards the lower end part is blocked to prevent scattering, and thus, anions and reaction ions are stably generated from the second electrode part.
