Disclosed are a method for determining an inactive duration performed by a gateway, and a data integrated amount, which comprises the steps of: generating a policy table by using a Markov decision process; receiving data from each of a plurality of sensors, storing the received data in a storage unit, and transmitting the stored data to a server; and transmitting a control signal to each of the sensors on the basis of an inactive duration of each of the sensors included in the policy table. In the step of transmitting data to the server, when the number of data received from a first sensor among the sensors and stored in the storage unit is equal to an optimum value of a data integration amount of the first sensor included in the policy table, the data received from the first sensor and stored in the storage unit is collectively transmitted to the server, and the control signal includes information on the inactive duration of a corresponding sensor.
