The present invention provides an apparatus for incapacitating content included in a file, the apparatus comprising: a determination unit determining whether specific content exists among content within a file provided to a user terminal and sorting the specific content; a file processing unit incapacitating the specific content sorted by the determination unit; an information generating unit generating substitution information including at least one from attribute information of the specific content incapacitated by the file processing unit and processed information resulting from performance of the file processing unit; a combination unit combining a file, in which the specific content is incapacitated by the file processing unit, with the substitution information generated by the information generating unit to generate a conversion file; a providing unit providing, to a user terminal, the conversion file generated by the combination unit when browsing a file is requested from the user terminal; and a controlling unit controlling each component. The present invention fundamentally blocks a propagation path of malicious codes to protect the user terminal from the malicious codes.
