The present invention provides a buffer pool management apparatus, comprising: a temporary buffer module; a read request processing module reading a target page from a storage device to write the target page on a frame of a free list when receiving a read request with respect to the target page which does not exist in a buffer pool; and a least recently used (LRU) list search module searching for a clean page within a search range in an LRU list when no spare frame exists in the free list, and writing at least one dirty page within the search range on the temporary buffer module and registering the frame of the page, having been written, at the free list when no clean page exists within the search range. The present invention adjusts a read and write sequence in managing buffer pool to solve a conventional read-blocked-by-write problem, thereby increasing a transaction processing quantity.
