The present invention relates to a torsionally rigid processing method of a metal rod having improved mechanical properties by applying surface polishing. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the present invention comprises: a process of applying a twist to a metal rod; and a process of removing surface defects generated on the surface of the metal rod by the process of applying a twist. The process of removing surface defects is performed in a continuous mode in which the process of applying a twist is performed or in an intermittent mode in which the process of applying a twist is temporarily stopped. Besides, the process of removing surface defects increases a twisting rotation amount or a shear strain applied to the metal rod.
