The present invention relates to a method to optimize a particle tracking module for predicting diffusion of leaked oil, which increases predicting accuracy in the diffusion of leaked oil. According to the present invention, the method comprises: a step of acquiring data about an actual moving path for each unit time of a buoy, which is observed by floating the trackable buoy on actual sea, and using predetermined predicted weather data, predetermined predicted marine data, and a diffusion coefficient for calculating the diffusion of the leaked oil to acquire diffusion prediction data of the leaked oil through a first particle tracking model; a step of calculating an observed variance for each unit time and a first predicted variance for each unit time; a step of using the predetermined predicted weather and marine data, and the first predicted variance for each unit time to establish a second particle tracking model, and using the established second particle tracking model to calculate a second predicted variance for each unit time; and a step of comparing the second predicted variance for each unit time with the observed variance for each unit time to optimize a parameter of the second particle tracking model.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2018
