Disclosed are a method and a system for generating a data merging tree in a wireless sensor network. The method is performed in at least one node among a plurality of sensor nodes in a wireless sensor network including the sensor nodes and a sink node, and comprises the steps of: forming a wireless sensor network by connecting at least one of the sensor nodes and the sink node in a tree structure based on the shortest distance between the sink node and each sensor node with respect to the sink node and the sensor nodes; and performing reconnection to reduce a network energy consumption amount while maintaining a maximum distance from a sink node determined on the basis of the tree structure with respect to the sensor nodes and the sink node on the formed wireless sensor network.
