An analysis of exercise equipment characteristics can be made using a dynamic sampling rate. For example, analyzing a golf swing may involve the use of one or more sensors that provide data at various sampling rates. According to some aspects, the sampling rate may be dynamically changed according to the determination of one or more golf equipment characteristics, environmental conditions, player characteristics, and the like. In one example, the sampling rate processor may dynamically select a sampling rate at which data is sampled from one or more sensors. In some instances, by dynamically selecting a sampling rate, in addition to generating power consumption by analytical equipment in the golf club system, the analysis can be tailored to a variety of golf swing and golf swing types. According to another aspect, a triggering condition for changing the sampling rate may be determined from one or more previous golf swing populations performed by the user.
