One embodiment of the present invention provides a method for estimating a postmortem interval, comprising: (a) a step of separating at least two kinds of structures from a biological sample; (b) a step of quantifying an expression level of a first domain and a second domain of an identical species of RNA by each structure; (c) a step of calculating a relative expression level of the first area and the second area; and (d) a step of estimating the time of death based on the calculated relative expression level with respect to each of the structure.
