An open-sided coupled microstrip antenna and its manufacturing method are presented. The antenna can efficiently induce electromagnetic coupling using a noncontact feeding method through an opening surface, and it is possible to generate electromagnetic waves in a uniform radiation pattern, a point at which the opening surface is formed in the radiation patch, a point at which the feed line is positioned between the radiation patch and the ground plane Thereby improving the radiation efficiency. Also, the opening-and-closing type microstrip antenna according to the present invention is manufactured in a folding manner so that it can be easily manufactured, the antenna can be downsized, and the resonance frequency can be easily controlled due to its bending characteristics.
