The present invention relates to a single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) composition for the diagnosis of a genetic background or varieties of tomatoes for marker assisted backcross (MAB) breeding, which comprises at least one polynucleotide selected from polynucleotides consisting of nucleotide sequences of SEQ ID NOs: 1 to 143 including an SNP position base, or a complementary polynucleotide thereof. The SNP of the present invention is expected to be used as a useful molecular marker in the cultivation of a new tomato variety.
