FIELD: rail vehicles.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport, to methods and devices that increase the safety of transporting containers mounted on the frames of railway platforms. Device contains rotary valves rigidly mounted on the shaft and spaced at a distance equal to the distance between the centres of the openings of the container fittings in the transverse direction. Shaft is pivotally mounted on the transverse bearing surface of the platform car and is equipped with at least two levers that the container acts upon lowering it onto the platform car. On the shaft returnable elastic elements are also located for initialization of shutter mechanism when removing the load. Method of fastening the containers on the frame of the platform car includes placing the containers on the support surfaces of the stops hinged on the frame of the platform car, and fixing the containers for rollover protection in the transverse plane using the rotary shutter. During installation, the container is in contact with the levers fixed on the shaft of the automatic device, and when the container is fully lowered onto the bearing surface of the platform car, the levers turn and take a horizontal position, and the butterfly valves go into the holes of the fittings, locking them.EFFECT: inventions provide an exception of manual labour when fixing containers.6 cl, 3 dwg
