Disclosed in an embodiment of the present invention is a method of identifying an optical module status in an optical network unit (ONU), the method comprising: obtaining a current identification period for the optical module status and obtaining an optical module status within a last identification period; equally dividing the current identification period into at least two sub-periods; obtaining optical module parameters within each sub-period of the current identification period; based on the number of sub-periods within which the optical module parameters have been continuously obtained successfully and based on the obtained optical module status within the last identification period, determining the optical module status within the current identification period. Also disclosed are an ONU and computer storage medium.
