FIELD: technological processes.;SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for mounting a probe for monitoring the surface level of a fluid in a vessel mounted inside a vessel from its outer side, and also to a vessel for use in said method. Said vessel (2) has sidewall (6) and first opening (22) in sidewall (6) for mounting probe (20, 120) inside fluid level control vessel (2), wherein probe (20, 120) has first end (24'), second end (24") and detector (24) located there between. Detector (24) has a plurality of sensors (38) along its length and means (40) for, when in use, transmitting surface level-related information from the sensors to control means. Probe (20) is provided with first means (28) and at least second means (36) for fastening probe (20).
