FIELD: chemistry.;SUBSTANCE: invention refers to analytical chemistry and can be used in order to quantify the content of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in aqueous media. Method for quantitative determination of PAC content in aqueous solutions includes the addition of dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) to the aqueous solution being studied and to the reference aqueous solutions, dynamic sorption of the tested and reference solutions through sorbents, while the film of cellulose diacetate is used as a sorbent, subsequent drying of the sorbents to the constant mass, registration of PAC fluorescence spectra and determination of PAC content in the studied solution study using the calibration curve of the fluorescence intensity at the peak of the PAC spectrum in the sorbent phase at 395 nm from the PAC concentration in the reference solutions.;EFFECT: invention allows to achieve the high degree of PAC recovery from aqueous solutions, the high fluorescence signal intensity and the detection limit lowering up to 10-13 M.;4 cl, 2 dwg, 1 ex
