FIELD: oil and gas industry.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for mixing oil in vertical reservoirs and can be used in the oil and oil refining industry at oil preparation, transportation and storage facilities, and also in other industries when storing liquids, from which precipitation is possible. To implement the method, the oil is fed by a closed jet into a reservoir volume through one or more nozzles located in the first rows of shell plates. Inside the reservoir, the oil is divided into three equal-sized axisymmetric streams – central and two lateral ones, symmetrically disposed at an angle of 40 degrees on either side of the central stream. Central stream is mixed with 100–400 vol% oil in the reservoir. Set of three organised streams is in the same plane in the form of a single organised stream. Said stream moves along a trajectory, which is a spiral of cylindrical shape, rising at an angle of 35–40 degrees and inclined at 6–10 degrees to the axis of the reservoir. Propagation angle of each of the three organised streams is 30–40 degrees, and the coefficient of turbulence is 0.35–0.4. Oil can be fed into the reservoir by gravity or by a pump in simultaneous injection and evacuation mode, or with periodic filling-draining.;EFFECT: invention provides mixing of the entire volume of oil in the reservoir, which reduces the rate of deposition of oil sludge on the bottom of the reservoir by a factor of ten to fifteen.;4 cl
