FIELD: medicine.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to infectious diseases, and can be used to predict the course of chronic hepatitis C 1 genotype in untreated patients with high viral load. Essence of the method: in neutrophils and monocytes of peripheral blood, the activity of cytochemical enzymes – succinate dehydrogenase (SDH), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G-6-FDH) and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD). With a decrease in activity, compared with normal indices, in neutrophils – SDH and NAD more than twice, LDH and G-6-FDH more than three times, in monocytes – a decrease in the activity of SDH, LDH, G-6-FDH more than twice and NAD more than two times predict unfavorable course. Proposed method is a simple, economical additional way to predict the course of CHC in untreated patients with 1 genotype in order to determine the further tactics of treating patients.;EFFECT: method provides possibility of timely initiation of antiviral therapy, dynamic monitoring of the effectiveness of treatment with the availability and economy of the method.;1 cl, 2 ex
