Solution to the problem Construction of a mobile foldable protective device (protective mat), which is placed under the engine compartment of the vehicle. The mat has a lightweight, weather-resistant, foldable, tear-resistant and sturdy grid mesh fabric made of nylon or comparable synthetic fibers. It has a mesh size of approx. 1.5 cm. The mat has a size of about 1.2 × 1.2 m when unfolded. and fits under the engine compartment of common car. The frame with the mesh covering can be folded up compactly and easily transported in the vehicle. As a folding mechanism, various principles are possible: 1. The mat is stretched on a self-unfolding frame of spring steel. 2. The mat is attached to rods that can be stretched as a fan circular or square. 3. The frame of the mat is put together and can be disassembled after use again. 4. The fabric mat is stretched on a self-unfolding construction and can be stretched like an umbrella hood and closed again. Field of application The mat is unfolded when leaving the vehicle and placed under the engine compartment of the vehicle. Before departure, the mat is folded / dismantled again.
